Looks that Could Kill

                                                                                  Looks that Could Kill
Anna Friel’s naked role in a West End play made one member of the audience collapse. The actress dropped her layers while starring as Holly Golightly in the stage version of classic, Breakfast At Tiffany’s.
The Pushing Daisies star told UK TV host Paul O’Grady that one man keeled over in the aisle and had to be carried out on a stretcher when she stripped off.
“During that naked scene, about four days ago, we had a man who collapsed in the audience — but it was during the naked scene and I didn’t know if I had done something very wrong or it just happened that he collapsed at that point,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.
“I remember him being carried out on a stretcher which was a bit distracting,” she added.

NY Fashion Week

                                       New York Fashion Week
Tough Clothes for Tough Times at NY Fashion Week
Narciso Rodriguez was among the designers who prepared for battle at New York Fashion Week on Tuesday with an urban warrior theme that featured exposed zipper details, “camouflage lace” and heavily hardwared belts that looked like they were holding bullets. Even elegant Badgley Mischka was more somber than red-carpet ready, opening with an aggressive daytime look and a series of black pieces with a taffeta-wool checkerboard weave.
Tough-as-nails dresses heavy on black and metallics were on the runways of Herve Leger and Nicole Miller, with other designers relying on aggressive hardware or patent-leather trims. The usually girlish Cynthia Rowley presented an almost all-black collection. It’s a trend that fits with the strong shoulder (and shoulder pads) that have also been prominent on the runways. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week runs through Friday.
Badgley Mischka
Even in these tough times, you can’t keep a good gown down. Badgley Mischka made the crowd wait until the last look for the glitz and glamour the label is known for, but it was there, in all its glory.
The overall tone of the fall collection was more somber than Mark Badgley and James Mischka usually embrace: There was a lot of black and little beading. The finale dress, though, with all-over copper beading delicately covered by black tulle, fused seamlessly subtlety and shine.
The daytime dress that opened the show was barely identifiable as a Badgley Mischka. Still, the brand’s socialite fans had some options: A heavily embellished gown might seem inappropriate now, so they designers stuck mostly with satin, draped this way or that to create a little newness.

Blake's Winter Style 2013

Winter poses a dilemma for fashion lovers: what can you wear to look cute without freezing? Luckily, there are lots of ways to stay chic and comfy at the same time, without exposing unnecessary flesh to frigid temps. Steal any of these ideas for an instant dose of winter style.
- Use color. How bold you go is depends on your mood. A colorful sweater is an easy pick; colored pants are a bolder choice. You can also add boldly colored jewelry, scarves, shoes, bags, and belts to any outfit even head-to-toe black to make it pop.
- Grab a printed scarf. Not only will it help keep you cozy, a cute scarf is an instant update for your regular jeans and sweater combo. It’s a no-brainer outfit maker on days when you’re rushed and out of inspiration.
- Layer up. Adding tights or leggings and a long-sleeved tee or cardigan is an easy way to make your summer dresses pull double-duty in the winter months. Add a pair of boots and you’re ready to go!
- Wear a statement coat. Celebs know that one of the easiest ways to look stylish in freezing weather is to grab a cool coat. Bright colors make even a grey day more fun, while long military or trench styles feel both feminine and structured while also keeping you covered. (Psst: they’re great for covering up in a skirt or dress!)
- Wear the right shoes. Let’s face it: peep-toes and ballet flats are cute, but they’re not practical in cold, wet weather. Booties are great if you don’t have snow to worry about but just don’t want to wear open shoes (pair them with tights under a skirt). If it’s cold and wet where you live, invest in a great pair of knee-high flat boots. Riding boots are one of the most classic wardrobe items you can own, and they look fab with a pair of tucked-in skinny jeans. Added bonus: you can buy a pair roomy enough to accommodate thick winter socks!

Set sail for Summer in Stripes

Set sail for Summer in Stripes
Stripes are practically a summer fashion staple, and this year is no exception. There was an explosion of stripes on the summer runways, from designers like Moschino and Prada; clothing boutiques everywhere are brimming with striped clothing and accessories; and actress Olivia Wilde even sports a striped top on the June cover of Glamour magazine.
Stripes can be a bit intimidating for the pattern-shy, but this perennial favorite is surprisingly wearable. Vertical stripes are commonly held to be more slimming than horizontal stripes, but that doesn’t mean you have to ban the latter from your closet. Just stick to skinny stripes instead of bold bands. Alternatively, diagonal stripes tend to flatter any figure, since they don’t exaggerate curves the way straight horizontal or vertical lines tend to do.
The most classic nautical-inspired looks typically involve black, navy, or red with white, but you can find loads of color options out there, from the bold to the subtle. Try a tone-on-tone stripe, like navy with blue or two differing shades of any other color, if you’re shy about flat out black-and-white stripes.
Another way to dip a toe into the trend is to start with a small accessory, like a scarf, bag, or shoes. This is also a great way to add a little pizzazz to a plain outfit!
Slightly oversized striped tops look great paired with short-shorts and wedge sandals for summer, and keep the vibe casual. You could also tuck a striped top into a skirt to make it more work-appropriate.

Steal Blake's Dressing Style

This summer could very well be termed the season of Blake Lively. The 23-year-old actress has moved up from her stint in the TV drama Gossip Girl to a starring role opposite Ryan Reynolds in this summer’s blockbuster action hit, The Green Lantern, which hits theaters in the U.S. on June 17. She’s also gracing the covers of both People StyleWatch Magazine (June issue) and Glamour Magazine (July issue), and has been heating up the celebrity rumor mill with her fledgling romance with Hollywood hottie Lenoardo DiCaprio.

The California native might be building her portfolio, but she’s almost as well known for her fashion and beauty sense as she is for her career moves. So, what are her style secrets?
For starters, Blake has that perpetual golden glow. Use a gradual self-tanning lotion, like Jergens Natural Glow Revitalizing Daily Moisturizer ($8) to get the sun-kissed effect without the burn. Moisturization is also key to glowy, healthy skin, so remember to slather on a good body lotion daily to ward off dry skin before it starts.

For hair as lush and shiny as Blake’s, use your favorite deep conditioning treatment 1-2 times per week to keep hair hydrated and healthy, then use a monthly glazing treatment to boost your hair’s color and shine. (One to try: John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze, $10.)
When it comes to her makeup, Blake tends to stick to a low-key palette that lets her natural beauty show through, with staples like tinted moisturizer and pinky gloss. The finishing touch? Several coats of black mascara; to perfectly mimic Blake’s fluttery fringe, use a lash comb to fully separate your lashes.

Finally, take a cue from Blake and experiment with color, whether it’s head-to-toe red or an unexpected combo, like turquoise and deep purple. If that famous smile is any indication, she’s having fun expressing herself through her fashion choices, and you should, too!

Amazing Occasion Dressing Trends in 2013

I remember when I was about 17 years old and I was going through my ‘be different’ phase, which involved me being ever so slightly non conformist when it came to dressing for an ‘occasion’. I chose to wear ball gowns in the day and jeans and scruffy tops of an evening. Round about this time we had a family christening, and I arrived to the merriments in jeans and a hole ridden t-shirt, much to my mother’s dismay, and she still talks about it today, how ‘occasion dressing is the key to style, and me turning up in jeans and a worn out t-shirt just showed how little idea I in fact had’. At the time I thought I looked effortlessly cool, but looking back…my mum might of had a slight point. I was dressed completely wrong for that particular occasion due to who was there and the venue we were in.

My style has evolved over the years for the better, hopefully. I still have the non conformist within, however I do tame the beast when attending someone’s wedding or a celebration of the birth of their first child! I now take in to account where it is that I am going, and who will be there.

Summer is all about occasion dressing, or dressing right for each event you are attending, and if like me, you don’t like to wear the same thing twice then you really need to have a gander at Moonspark.

Moonspark stocks an array of dresses suitable for all summer happenings BBQ’s, walks in the park, festivals, picnics & party’s.

A personal favorite of mine from the website is this stunningMina Lace Babydoll dress -£79.99. The lace, leaf detailing is utterly stunning and the embroidered trim and baby-doll style gives this dress and incredibly feminine finish. I am attending a casual garden wedding in a few weeks, and thinking this dress may just be perfect for that occasion. I would accessorize this dress with a bright block colour shoe, maybe hot pink, turquoise or bright red? The same with the handbag, however I would clash the colour of the bag to the shoes. I would then add a head piece to this look and finish with a vintage cape. Alternatively you just just put some gladiator sandals to this look and it would become an utterly charming day dress.

Sneakers for all occasions: Converse Chuck Taylor Shoes

Fashion trends come and go on a seasonal basis, and shoe trends switch up fairly often as well. But while platforms might come and go and we might switch from round to pointy toes on our high heels depending on the decade, there’s one style of shoe that has remained popular for decades and will probably never go out of style: Converse Chuck Taylor Shoes.

Converse Chuck Taylor Shoes

The sporty lace-up sneaker, made of canvas and rubber, has older origins than you might think! It was invented in 1917 by Converse and marketed simply as “All-Stars”, with Converse hoping to cash in on the basketball market. In the 1920s, basketball player and company spokesman Chuck Taylor improved the shoes’ design and their popularity took off. Converse subsequently incorporated Taylor’s signature into their logo and today the shoes are popularly known simply as “Chuck Taylors” after their famous original spokes model.

Converse Chuck Taylor shoes have been hugely popular over the years with everyone from celebrities to youth in punk rock garage bands. Famous faces like Nicole Kidman and Gisele Bundchen love their Converse Chuck Taylors for more casual days. Rockers like Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti are known to rock Chuck Taylors 24-7. Perhaps the most famous face to wear Chuck Taylors on the red carpet is ‘Twilight’ actress Kristin Stewart, who has been known to pair couture minidresses with her beloved yet battered Chuck Taylors!

While classic black Converse Chuck Taylors are the obvious choice, today you can buy a pair of the cult sneakers in just about every color under the sun. They come in patterns, lace up to the knee, and have been reinvented dozens of times over to follow current trends. In fact, you can even customize the color and design on your sneakers for a fee: at Converse.com, you can walk through every step of the design process to create a custom pair of Converse sneakers to suit your own personal taste or to create a one-of-a-kind gift for a friend.

So why are Converse Chuck Taylor shoes so popular? Part of it is comfort; it’s hard to beat a pair of sneakers when you’re running errands or you’ll be on your feet all day shopping and hanging out with friends. And part of it is simply the scruffy-cool, “I’m with the band” attitude the shoes project. Last but not least, there’s the versatility to wear them with anything in your closet. Just ask gals like Kristen Stewart: a pair of Chuck Taylors goes with anything!

Injecting vibrant colours into your autumn wardrobe

As autumn rolls around, it can be easy to let all the colour, along with soon-to-be-forgotten shorts and vest tops, drain from your wardrobe. However, the new season doesn’t have to mean discarding vibrancy in favour of dreariness.
The Pantone Fashion Color Report Fall 2013 proves that autumn doesn’t necessarily equate to browns, greys and blacks. When you think of this season, don’t the transitional shades of green and the rich oranges and reds of the leaves come to mind?
Reflect the stunning colours nature exhibits during autumn in your clothing for a look that’s bang on trend. With a focus on the rich and more vibrant hues, you can ensure your outfits make a statement. Add at least a hint of bright colour into each outfit to avoid getting stuck in a grayscale cycle.
Vivacious pink
The deep fuchsia dubbed Vivacious is sure to get heads turning, and ensure your look is anything but boring in the coming season. It can be hard to wear on large pieces, but can easily be injected into your wardrobe.
Look for this colour splashed across high heels to glam up a little black dress in the evening, pairing with a lipstick in the same hue. In the day, it looks great across a hat, gloves and scarf set – those in cashmere are a particularly good buy. You can look at a variety of high heels at Spy Love Buy.
You can find more tips for wearing bold hues in your outfits here, and discover how to introduce colour pops, which accentuate your best features. Don’t be afraid of trying out something new – a fresh look could be just what you need to get out of a style rut.
Dark orange and rich purple
Pantone has picked out a specific shade named Koi, but integrating any dark orange hues into your wardrobe this autumn is a great way to stay on trend. Sheer materials look amazing in this colour, so look out for blouses and skirts in this style for a huge fashion boost.
It also colour blocks well with Acai, a rich purple, to create a retro feel. You can also wear this combination by dressing in one shade and accessorising with the other, so look out for statement pieces of jewellery, shoes and bags.
A spectrum of greens
Greens feature prominently in the autumn fashion colour palette, with major influences from the great outdoors. The top pick for eveningwear is Carafe, a glamorous green-brown mix that will look amazing on a dress worn with gold jewellery.
At the other end of the scale is the yellow-toned Linden Green, a brighter option that will work well in the day. Spy Love Buy has fantastic wellington boots in this shade, which will be perfect for negotiating puddles and mud when you’re outside this autumn.

Women Happy to Dress Skimpily for Promotion

Sexy Office Attire

A third of women are prepared to dress provocatively in the workplace in order to climb the career ladder, says a report in Britain.
More than 27 percent admitted they would happily wear a slightly skimpy outfit to work if it won them a bonus or promotion. One in 20 of them even owned up to wearing revealing outfits to work on a regular basis, said the poll of 3,000 workers conducted by the fashion forum website theragtrader.
The research revealed that 78 percent of women believe the way they dress affects their day at work. And over half – 54 percent – believe dressing up helps them perform better in the office.
A spokesman for theragtrader.com study said: “The research proves that what you wear to work can really affect your success rate. This relates to both accomplishing more during 9-5 and even climbing the career ladder quicker too.
“Even when working from home, it’s incredible how clothing can influence your productivity. If your clothing is too relaxed in style, it’s harder to get into work mode and all too easy to waste the day.”
The survey also revealed two thirds of women feel more in control if they are smartly dressed, while 61 percent think it gains them more respect from their colleagues.
Women were also more competitive in the office fashion stakes with 48 percent of women admitting there was an element of competition when it came to office attire, compared to just 27 percent of men.

Clothing catalogues is easy alternative to the mall

There are lots of good reasons not to hit the mall: the crowds, the driving distance, poor weather, a busy schedule. That’s where clothing catalogues swoop in to save the fashion day. Either in traditional print form or online, clothing catalogues offer you a way to shop from the comfort of your home.
Clothing catalogues like Kaleidoscope offer a wide range of fashions for the modern woman, including office-appropriate separates, casual wear, party dresses, jackets, swimwear, intimates, jewelry, shoes, accessories, and more.
The best part about these companies? Many now offer articles in their clothing catalogues (or blogs online) that keep you up-to-date on the latest fashion trends and tricks of the season. For example, at Kaleidoscope, you can read Style Scoop, their style-savvy blog about the latest fashion trends and your everyday style dilemmas.
Shopping from clothing catalogues is a bit different from shopping in a traditional brick-and-mortar store. Since you can’t try on the clothes before buying, carefully read the fit/sizing guide and measure yourself so you can choose the proper sizes. Remember, sizes fluctuate widely across brands, and a 2 from one company may be an 8 from another!
You’ll also want to read up on the company’s shipping policies. Many companies regularly offer promotional discounts on shipping, so it’s wise to keep an eye out for these codes to save a bundle on your orders.
Finally, it’s important to know the full return policy. How do you return an item if you’re not satisfied or the fit is wrong? Is there a time limit? What are the return charges? Know the rules before you submit your order to avoid hassles later on.
Now, fire up that internet browser and have a little fun virtually window shopping!

Valentine’s Day in red dresses 2014

It’s time to start thinking about Valentine’s Day and what to wear for a romantic date, natch! We typically associate the holiday with the color red, the hue of passion and romance; so why not set the mood with a sultry red dress?
There are tons of options out there. You might choose a strapless mini, a simple sheath, or a trendy one-shoulder ruched number. The hue you choose is up to you obviously, you can find plenty of styles in a classic ruby red, but you can also find everything from bright tomato reds to deep wine reds on the rack.
If you really want to up the ante, try a red lace dress. While it might bring to mind attire better suited to the bedroom, red lace doesn’t have to be racy. The trick is to opt for a body-skimming (not skintight) cut with a higher neckline and knee-length hem. A full slip underneath will keep the look appropriate. Try classic silhouettes, like an empire-waist or a long-sleeved sheath, for the perfect blend of sexy and ladylike.
The accessories you choose for a red dress are as important as the dress itself! Look for leg-lengthening nude pumps; black shoes can feel too heavy and dated. A matching nude clutch is an understated pairing for a fiery dress. Keep your jewelry simple, now is not the time to load up on bangles or try a pair of heavy chandelier earrings. Simple studs and a cocktail ring are elegant and understated.
As for your makeup, there’s no reason you can’t pair red lips with a red dress! Adding red nails can push the look into matchy-matchy territory, though, so opt for a classic nude or blush manicure instead. Remember to add plenty of volumizing mascara for fluttery lashes, and just a hint of blush to warm up your skin! Finish with bouncy bombshell waves or a soft updo, and you’ll be ready to melt your valentine’s heart.

Yet it is also important to keep in mind that there are some fashion items that require you to invest your money for them. Although these items may cost more in the beginning, they are worth it in the end and allow you to get earn some great savings over time.
1.) A good leather purse.

When you invest in a leather purse you are investing into your future and you will have little worry about it breaking down on you. Also, you won’t have to be concerned with spending your hard-earned savings on another one.
2.) A great suit.
Another great fashion investment is a great suit. Everyone needs a great suit in their closet. This suit should be one that speaks for you when you walk into a room. This means it should command the interviewer’s and other people’s attention.
This fashion investment shouldn’t cost more than $200, so it won’t hurt your savings. Plus, if you find a great sale, you can get be a part of some extra savings and put the additional money away.

You can’t have a great closet without a really nice pair of dress shoes. Having at least one pair of really nice dress shoes is a fashion investment you can’t live without.
The dress shoes have to be good quality shoes that aren’t too uncomfortable and have just the right hint of attractiveness and class. To do this you will have to take your time and really look for a shoe that you like and that works with the clothes you already have.
4.) A nice fitted pair of slacks.
There is no doubt that having a nice fitted pair of slacks makes a difference when you walk into a room and present yourself to others. Although it may seem like slacks come a dime a dozen, they don’t.
Not all slacks are made the same way and different manufacturers cut slacks differently. This fashion investment is something you really have to take your time to look for, but it will be worth it in the end. Once you find a company that makes the right pair of nice fitting slacks that you like, stick with them and save time and money.
4.) A good blazer.
Although a good blazer is last on the fashion investment list, it is definitely not least. A good blazer will carry you through the years, especially if you have one that is a solid color such as black and has a great fit. You can use this blazer at the office or when you go out on the town.
It is definitely wise to get the best savings everywhere you can, but when it comes to these five items, you need to spend the money to get the best in the beginning. Doing this will help you to avoid spending too much money in years to come.

It Brits: the girls of autumn 2013 fashion campaigns

Plenty of our favorite celebrities are earning extra style points this autumn by starring in the hippest ad campaigns for the hottest clothing labels. Here are X of your favorite Brits whom you can expect to see in a magazine ad near you.

- Kate Moss for Rag & Bone. She’s easily one of the most famous and most recognizable British A-listers, and her rock-n-roll style is legendary. So it makes sense that Kate Moss would sign on as the face of this gritty American label, especially since they just opened their first European flagship store in London in July. Not only is the line now available in Sloane Square, it will also be showing its spring/summer 2013 collection at London Fashion Week next month!
- Kate Moss for Salvatore Ferragamo. Double threat! Moss goes high end chic for the Italian fashion house in a moody blue campaign shot in Berlin’s Russian embassy.
- Gabriella Wilde for Burberry. It’s fitting that the iconic British brand would pick an up and coming British actress to front their latest ad campaign. The cinematic black and white photographs feature Wilde and musician Roo Panes at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich London.
- Lara Stone for Calvin Klein. Who else? The longtime Klein model is back for four new shoots: a country-inspired shoot for Calvin Klein Collection, a polished street look for cK Calvin Klein, a minimalist Calvin Klein Watches campaign, and a vampy after dark city shoot for Calvin Klein Jeans.
- Georgia May Jagger for Hudson Jeans. The denim brand is celebrating its tenth anniversary and is using long time collaborator Jagger as the face of its celebratory campaign. The cabaret inspired print ads are complemented by a series of short videos starring Jagger and assorted guest musicians.
- Daisy Lowe for Eleven Paris. The cheeky ads feature Lowe and Iggy Pop dressed as though for a rock-n-roll wedding.
- Sopie Dahl for Aubin & Wills. The model slash chef follows in the footsteps of fellow blonde Brit Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, in a natural, woodsy shoot that’s perfect for setting the autumn mood.

The Duchess shows us how to wear a coat dress at the Olympic opening ceremony
Of course, the 2012 summer Olympics are about sports but they’re about fashion, too, if the blogosphere is to be believed! And of course, nothing generated more buzz than what everyone’s favorite duchess wore to the opening ceremony. Here are tips on how to copy her look.
Fittingly, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (formerly Kate Middleton) opted for a UK designer for the opening ceremony. Her pale blue satin fitted coat dress was custom-designed by Scottish born designer Christopher Kane; she paired it with a grey suede clutch and her diamond earrings that she first sported back at the Jubilee Concert in June. She reportedly finished the outfit with nude heels.
Kate illustrates an important rule for wearing satin: make it tailored, not tight! Her coat dress skims the body and doesn’t billow out in that unflattering prom dress silhouette. Yet it isn’t skin tight and doesn’t tug or pull.
A coat dress is a hot item for fall 2012, so Kate is right on-trend with this frock. The ice blue color looks stunning on her complexion, but if you’re looking for something more winter appropriate, try a non shiny fabric in a color like oxblood. And since satin is best left to dressy occasions, you might prefer a fabric like wool or cotton-blend.
Now, on to her accessories! The dress features a belt to define her waist; you could get a similar effect with a skinny leather belt. A nude pump is the perfect shoe for any outfit in your closet, but especially one in a tricky color or fabric; a metallic shoe could easily make this dress look dated, while black would be too heavy. Kate favors three-inch heels, which are tall enough to be sexy but still comfortable to walk in while at events (like a meet-and-greet with heads of state from around the world!).
Finally, those earrings. A coat dress is a fairly conservative piece of clothing, so it’s nice to add a little sparkle. Kate did so with diamond hoop earrings, which are in keeping with her classic image but add a little feminine fun to any outfit.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to design lingerie line for Marks & Spencer

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to design lingerie line for Marks & Spencer
British supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is set to release her first lingerie collection, Rosie for Autograph, exclusively through Marks & Spencer this autumn. The leggy blonde bombshell is already well known as the face of Autograph and internationally, she’s found fame as a model for American lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret but this will be the first time she tries her hand at designing.
Rosie has been modeling since 2003 and has also dabbled in the film world, making her movie debut in 2011 in ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ and signing on to star in 2013′s ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ alongside Charlize Theron. While Rosie has modeled for a number of international clothing labels including British brand Burberry, for which she most recently was photographed in nothing but an open trench coat to promote the Burberry Body fragrance she’s best known for her time as a lingerie model, so creating her very own lingerie line seems like a natural next step for the beauty.
The collection is set to premiere online and at select Marks & Spencer stores on August 30, and is set to include some 33 pieces, including lingerie sets, cami and French knicker sets, a luxurious kimono robe, and a teddy. Of her collaboration with Autograph and M&S, Rosie says, “M&S is an iconic British brand, adored by many, so I’m very excited to be launching my debut lingerie line with them. I thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with the design team to create my dream collection, and I’m looking forward to a fun and creative time ahead.”
Prices have not yet been released for the collection but it’s expected to offer high-end quality at a mid-range price. Rosie’s love of vintage lingerie reportedly influenced the collection, which is said to include plenty of printed pieces with rose prints, muted colors, silks and lace, and deco detailing to evoke luxurious, glamorous lingerie from the 1920s.

The Recipe Queen

The Recipe Queen

After conquering the modelling world and storming the high street with her Topshop threads, Kate Moss is rustling up some recipes to tickle tastebuds, according to sources. The catwalk queen has reportedly decided to write a cookbook after being inspired by Topshop boss Sir Philip Green’s stepdaughter Stasha Palos, who recently penned her very own recipe book of traditional Jewish dishes. “Kate recently cooked Jamie a slap-up Jewish meal following kosher techniques from Stasha.

She loves her easy-to-follow recipes,” the Mirror quoted an insider as saying. “It’s all she’s been taking about. Stasha is due to release her book this year and Kate has been testing out the recipes,” the source added. The Croydon-born supermodel has reportedly been trying her hand at everything from chicken noodle soup to salt beef and potato latkes, nondairy pareve carrot and honey cakes. “Her friend Davinia Taylor has been helping and Kate is always on the phone to her pals for tips,” the insider said. “She is buzzing about the idea of being the first supermodel to release a cookbook,” she added.

Best and worst Oscars fashion 2013

The Academy Awards are always a great source of gawking and OMG moments as our favorite actresses show off glamorous gowns on the red carpet. As is usually the case year after year, the 2013 Oscars saw tons of really awesome moments and some truly cringeworthy ones as well. Here’s a quick roundup of the best and worst!
Best and Worst of Oscars Fashion in 2013
Best: Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture. The new face of Miss Dior chose an ethereal cream ball gown with a simple updo and natural makeup. A long necklace worn backwards showed off her slightly quirky and youthful fashion sense.
Worst: Kristen Stewart in Reem Acra. The embellished cream column gown might have been okay without the odd fishtails of tulle on the bottom.
Best: Kerry Washington in Miu Miu. The coral gown with structural gold bodice detail needed only simple hair and makeup to shine. Washington can rock blush and coral shades like no other woman on the red carpet and this was an excellent choice after a string of misses while on the press tour for ‘Django Unchained’.
Worst: Anne Hathaway in Prada. The side boob, the bland pale pink satin, the fact that the darts awkwardly accentuated her nipples…this was a terrible choice for the nominated actress, and looked like a poorly fitted apron.
Best: Jessica Chastain in Armani Prive. The glittering gold strapless gown. The red lips. The big barrel curls. Chastain channeled Jessica Rabbit on the red carpet and came away a winner!
Worst: Naomi Harris in Michael Badger. We love Harris, but this awkward mustard gown with an impossibly high slit and odd bodice detailing was not her best look.
Best: Jennifer Aniston in Valentino. A whole new Jen emerged arm-in-arm with new fiancé Justin Theroux. She abandoned her usual sleek black dresses in favor of a wowza red ball gown that turned all heads on the red carpet.
Worst: Sally Field in Valentino Haute Couture. Field also chose a red Valentino gown, albeit with sleeves and a very long train. But her petite frame was swamped by the fabric!
Best: Charlize Theron in Dior Haute Couture. White, structural, and the perfect fierce accompaniment to Theron’s blond buzz cut! We die!
Worst: Kelly Rowland in Donna Karan. This is structural done wrong…and a slit done wrong…and two-tone done wrong…in fact, the dress looked like two separate halves stitched haphazardly together. Better luck next time!
Best: Sandra Bullock in Elie Saab. Black was anything but basic with sheer panels and beaded details, yet this dress remained elegant, glamorous and not trashy.
Worst: Kelly Osbourne in Tony Ward Couture. Part glitter, part sheer, part bondage wear, Kelly’s dress had waaaaay too much going on to be red carpet worthy.
Best: Alicia Vikander in Elie Saab. For minimalist detail that’s still lush, this pale blue grey gown with long sleeves and tone on tone embellishment gets it just right.
Worst: Zoe Saldana in Alexis Mabille. Minus that weird bow belt, Saldana’s ombre black and white gown might have been a huge hit.
Best: Jennifer Hudson in Roberto Cavalli. Velour leopard print? In navy? With super-long hair and bangs? Oh yeah, she rocked it.
Worst: Naomi Watts in Armani Prive. Did she realize one shoulder of the dress was missing? Or was that an intentional element of her gunmetal grey dress?
